What this site collects, what we do with it, and who else sees it. Last updated 25 October 2026.

Reading this site

We use the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), so we can tell whether our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people in. It sets cookies in your browser (_fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from one of our ads) and tells Meta which of our pages you opened, and when you send the RSVP form or join our list. One more thing is kept in your own browser: when you confirm you are of legal drinking age, your browser remembers the time you answered for thirty days so you are not asked on every visit.

Other companies your browser contacts

The typefaces come from Google Fonts on every page, so your browser asks fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com for them and Google sees that request. The Still Sessions page carries players from YouTube - through youtube-nocookie.com, their reduced-tracking address - and from Spotify, so opening that page contacts both. Every page also loads the Meta Pixel from connect.facebook.net. Everything else is a link: nothing is requested from Instagram or Google Maps until you click one.

Joining the mailing list

We receive your email address, and your first and last name if you give them. The list is held and the mailings are sent by Brevo on our behalf. The form also records the internet address you sent it from and your browser's description of itself, so we can tell real sign-ups from automated ones.

The RSVP and contact form

If you send us a message we receive your name, email address, telephone number, the kind of enquiry and what you wrote. It is emailed to us and a copy is emailed back to you. The same internet address and browser record is kept, for the same reason.

Booking and paying

When you pay for a Steak Night, a tour or beef, our booking system tells Meta that a purchase was made and what it came to, with the internet address and browser description you booked from, and your email address, telephone number and name scrambled (hashed) first so they are not sent as written. Meta uses this to measure our ads. The payment itself is taken by Clover; we never see your card. You can see how Meta uses this, and turn it down, at facebook.com/adpreferences; most browsers can also block it in their privacy settings.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information. We do not give it to anyone for their own marketing. We hand it to others only where the law requires it.

Leaving the list, or asking us to remove something

Every mailing carries an unsubscribe link. You can also use the RSVP and contact page on this site, or the telephone number at the foot of it, and we will remove what we hold about you.

Why the site asks your age

We brew, distil and serve alcohol, so the site asks you to confirm you are of legal drinking age before showing you the rooms and the menus. That answer stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Changes

If this policy changes we replace this page and change the date at the top of it.
